YERVOY (ipilimumab) is a recombinant, human monoclonal antibody that binds to the cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4). Ipilimumab is an IgG1 kappa immunoglobulin with an approximate molecular weight of 148 kDa. Ipilimumab is produced in mammalian (Chinese hamster ovary) cell culture.
Ipilimumab is supplied at a concentration of 5 mg/mL as a sterile, preservative-free, clear to slightly opalescent, colorless to pale-yellow solution of pH 7.0, which contains 0.04 mg/mL diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA), 10 mg/mL mannitol, 0.1 mg/mL polysorbate 80 (vegetable origin), 5.85 mg/mL sodium chloride, 3.15 mg/mL tris hydrochloride.
